Owning a nicely furnished house with all the latest gadgets is indeed a matter of prestige. But what about the painful job of maintaining them regularly when most of the house owners are busy pursuing their family needs or career demands.
If you are fed up with those small agencies, which would take their sweet time to fix up your air conditioner or television or the next-door plumber, electrician or carpenter, who never arrives at your convenience, there is good news.
The highly unorganised sector of home care services are getting organised with the entry of companies, which either provide all the services under one roof or those which take up specilised jobs.
Homegenie, a joint initiative of Rosebys Interiors and Cartel Infotech, assures end-to-end home care services.
It has around 500 workers to take up maintenance works of around 40 electrical and electronic gadgets and services like carpentry, plumping and electrical works for its registered customers. It also provides manpower as drivers and housemaids. At present the firm operating in Delhi and Noida, plans to go pan-India.
“Similar to several developed markets, India too needs organised home care service providers as many owners are not left with enough time to spend on their house. Reliability, accountability, convenience and quality are the key benefits of the sector getting more organised,” said Amit Roy, CEO of Homegenie.
Homegenie also is keeping the service costs at affordable levels till it establishes the concept in the country.
According to Gaurav Marya, president of Franchise India, getting a qualified blue-collared worker is a matter of luck and most of the cities face acute shortage of trained manpower.
“Agencies which take up specialised services also are making an entry into India, he said.
Australian Clean and Clear is a specialised agency which takes up cleaning of carpets and mattress, after party cleaning, window cleaning and regular home cleaning. The company is looking for franchisees in India.
Mumbai-based Tanclean cleans only water tanks and has 150 franchisees in 10 Indian states. It offers an array of services related to tanks from troubleshooting to regular cleaning. Raipur-based Fast Clean India also is into tank cleaning and it is growing franchisee way.
